Land of Opportunity
The success and stability of our country was built by generations of hardworking Americans on a foundation of rich soil. This land of opportunity not only allowed families to feed themselves, but to grow enough to share with others, and communities flourished as a result.
With the help of human innovation, the same land that provided for previous generations is producing more than ever before. At the same time, innovations in agriculture have given farmers and ranchers a unique opportunity to understand the land and the impact our operations have on it.
It has never been more clear that in agriculture, opportunity and responsibility are one in the same. The opportunity to work with the land comes with the responsibility to care for it, and the opportunity to produce healthy food for families today comes with the responsibility to ensure that the next generation has the ability to do the same.
Every day, these simple truths drive us to do our best for our farms, our environment, our community, and our family. We are inspired to seek new understanding about our soil, crops, and livestock. We find the courage to try new practices and the strength to persevere when new ideas don’t go as planned. We are embracing the reality that today’s generation of farmers and ranchers have the greatest opportunity to improve and protect the very land that has selflessly provided for every generation before us. This work, along with teaching the next generation why we do it, gives us purpose and motivation when the days are long. This opportunity is one we want to make the most of.
